Lanternfin Privacy Policy
Effective date:
Lanternfin is an ocean match-3 puzzle game for iPhone and iPad. It has no accounts, no sign-in, no chat and no analytics of our own, and we run no servers for it. Your progress is saved on your device. The free game is supported by advertising and offers optional in-app purchases. Advertising is the only part of the app that shares data with third parties. This page explains exactly what that means.
1. Who we are
Lanternfin is developed and published by Sueños Digitales, an independent mobile app studio. We are responsible for how the app handles your data.
Contact: supportlanternfin@suenos-digitales.com.
2. What this policy covers
This policy covers the Lanternfin app distributed on the Apple App Store (and, when released, on Google Play). It does not cover:
- this website, which has its own privacy policy;
- the App Store or Apple Game Center, which Apple runs under its own privacy policy.
3. The short version
- We do not collect personal information. No account, no email, no name, no precise location.
- Your game stays on your device. Levels, stars, pearls, lives, boosters, daily-chest streak and settings are stored only on your device. We have no server.
- Ads are the only third-party data use. Ads are served by Google AdMob and its partner networks. They receive technical device data, and your advertising identifier only if you allow tracking.
- The leaderboard is Apple’s. If you use Game Center, your Deepest Dive score goes to Apple, not to us.
- Purchases are Apple’s. Payments are handled entirely by Apple.
- You are in control. Deny tracking, change ad consent, or remove banner and full-screen ads with a one-time purchase.
4. Data stored on your device
To work, Lanternfin keeps a small amount of data in the app’s private storage:
- your level progress, stars and best scores;
- pearls, lives (and when the next life refills) and boosters (Trident, Whirlpool, Tide Turner);
- your daily-chest streak and how many free-booster videos you have watched today;
- settings (music, sound, vibration) and tutorial progress;
- whether you own Remove Ads or the Starter Pack, and identifiers of completed purchase transactions, so nothing is delivered twice;
- ad-frequency bookkeeping (for example, when you last saw a full-screen ad), so ads stay infrequent;
- whether you have already seen the tracking explanation screen.
None of this is sent to us. Deleting the app deletes it. Remove Ads and the Starter Pack can be restored on any device signed in to the same Apple Account with “Restore Purchases”.
5. Advertising
- Banner ads on the dive map and menus only, never on the game board.
- Full-screen (interstitial) ads occasionally, only when you leave a results screen: never before level 6, at most every second results screen, and at least 90 seconds apart.
- Rewarded video ads only when you choose to watch one by tapping a clearly labelled button: +5 moves after a failed level, refill a life, double pearls after a win, a free booster (up to 3 a day), or double the daily chest.
Ads are delivered by Google AdMob, which may pass an ad request to one of the partner networks in section 8. We do not choose which ad you see and we do not know who you are.
To request and show an ad, the advertising software in the app sends technical information to the ad network, which may include:
- your IP address, from which a coarse location (country or city) can be inferred;
- device type, operating-system version, language, screen size and time zone;
- the app’s identifier and version;
- ad interaction data (which ads were shown, tapped or watched to the end);
- your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking (section 6), and the vendor identifier (IDFV);
- crash and performance diagnostics generated by the advertising software.
Ad networks use this data to deliver ads, measure them, prevent fraud and, only where you have allowed it, show more relevant ads. If you don’t allow it, you still see ads, but they are not personalised from a cross-app profile.
6. App Tracking Transparency (iOS)
Lanternfin asks your permission before any ad network may access your advertising identifier or track you across other companies’ apps and websites. Apple’s App Tracking Transparency dialog appears once, on first launch, after a short explanation screen. The advertising software does not start until you have answered.
If you choose Ask App Not to Track, your advertising identifier is not shared, ads are non-personalised, and the game plays exactly the same. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
7. Ad consent (Europe, UK, Switzerland and US states)
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app shows Google’s consent form (Google User Messaging Platform) before any personalised ad is requested. Where US state privacy laws apply, Google’s US privacy message may be shown. When such a choice applies to you, you can change it at any time from Settings → Privacy choices in the game.
8. Our advertising partners
Ads are served through Google AdMob, which runs an auction in which an ad may be filled by one of these partners. Each is an independent company processing the data in section 5 under its own policy:
- Google AdMob (Google LLC): https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
- Meta Audience Network (Meta Platforms): https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/
- Pangle (Bytedance): https://www.pangleglobal.com/privacy/enduser-en
- Liftoff Monetize (formerly Vungle): https://liftoff.io/privacy-policy/
- ironSource (Unity Technologies): https://unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy
- Unity Ads (Unity Technologies): https://unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy
This list may change; we will keep this page current. Install attribution on iOS uses Apple’s privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork, which does not identify you.
9. In-app purchases
Optional purchases: two pearl packs (consumable), a one-time Starter Pack, and Remove Ads (removes banner and full-screen ads; optional reward videos stay available). Every payment is processed by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit). We never see your name, payment card or Apple Account details; the app receives only confirmation that a purchase succeeded. See Apple’s privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/. Refunds are handled by Apple.
10. Apple Game Center
Lanternfin uses Apple Game Center for one leaderboard, Deepest Dive. If you are signed in to Game Center, your score is sent to Apple under your Game Center profile and may be visible to other players according to your Game Center settings. This data is handled by Apple, not by us; we don’t receive your Apple Account details or contacts. Game Center is optional. Manage it in iOS Settings → Game Center.
11. What we don’t do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not create accounts or ask for your name, email, phone number or photos.
- We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data.
- We do not run our own analytics or tracking, and we have no server storing data about you.
- We do not knowingly collect data from children (section 14).
12. How long data is kept
Game data stays on your device until you delete the app. Ad networks keep data under their own policies (section 8). Apple keeps Game Center and purchase data under its policy. We hold no copy.
13. Your choices and rights
You can at any time: allow or deny tracking; reset your advertising identifier; change your ad-consent choice in the game’s Settings (where it applies); skip reward videos, which are always optional; buy Remove Ads; delete all game data by deleting the app.
Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising. Because we hold no personal data about you, most requests are best exercised through the controls above or with the ad network concerned. You can always contact us and we will help. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
14. Children
Lanternfin’s content is suitable for all ages, but it is a general-audience game and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child’s information was shared with an ad network through the app, contact us and we will help you have it deleted. Parents can use Screen Time to restrict purchases and stop apps from asking to track.
15. Security
Game data is kept in the app’s sandboxed storage, protected by iOS file encryption. The advertising software communicates over HTTPS. Purchases are handled and verified by Apple.
16. International transfers
Our advertising partners and Apple may process data on servers in other countries, including the United States, under their own legal safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).
17. Changes to this policy
If we change how Lanternfin handles data, we will update this page and its effective date, and describe significant changes in the app’s release notes.
